AA/JL LAX "Celebration" Mini-DO Feb 27/28th? Interest?

Hello all.

In celebration of JL's recent commitment to oneworld, fellow FTer Kebosabi and I have decided to do a mini-DO for AA and JL FTers in Los Angeles for either Feb 27th or the 28th.

Themewise, we thought it was best that the get-together location should be a Japanese restaurant. And keeping in line with FTers lust for miles, we also looked for a place where one can earn AAdvantage miles from the AA Dining program. We found a place that fits the best of both worlds perfectly:

En Sushi
11651 Santa Monica Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90025
P. (310) 477-1551

Please let me know if you are interested in joining and your prospective dates.
It should be a fun night to celebrate JAL and AA starting a new chapter in their relationships as alliance partners.

I think this is a great idea.
I clicked on the hotlink to the restaurant and it looks like a great place.
I would like to be part of the "do" but will be in England helping a friend
celebrate an important birthday. When you will be 90 you should have
at least 90 well wishers. I have been told that there will be more
than that including those of us from the colonies.
Let us know how the "do" turns out.

In light of the "theme" of the other event you are hosting, put me on the list of those that would never attend an event you host.

I figured this would happen.

This DO has nothing to do nor will be anything like the MIA DO. This is strictly to celebrate AA and JAL beating the odds and staying together. It's a great restaurant and you will earn miles from it. Different purposes between the two. This DO will run like any other DO has been done in the past.

Between me and Kebosabi, we clearly have invested time and thought to make this DO a success. We spent months in doom and gloom mode because of JAL's supposed exit from OW to join Delta. It did not happen and I think is worth the effort.

So can we please focus on THIS DO and not the other one?

Will let you know within a day if I can attend. This might be a perfect time for a MR to LAX.

The funniest part is that I'm sure none of the people who have a problem with the name even bothered to read the events. From top to Bottom, I have put together a very comprehensive DO. Not only that, I'm renting 2 SUV's to help ferry everyone around from place to place. Read the events. Nothing in my events is anymore controversial then any other DO that has ever taken place SAVE for the name.

As for Tom, I'm truly sorry to hear this as per my points above, I'm not doing anything that is truly "controversial" aside from the name. Like they say about about a book and it's cover...

I've got no objection to the name, even if those activities were involved- I do both of those things and don't find them offensive.

It's the hanging out at the glorified Burger King that I object to in that DO

Cheers.
