Air partner credit other than HP?

I have to fly HP but don't have an active FF account. Is there another air partner that I can credit my HP flights to flying from the Bay Area to PHX?

I thought I could credit HA but one agent told me that was only for interisland flights? Any tips or advise would be appreciated...

Are there any bonuses to sign up for HP? I don't plan on flying them much so I would rather credit another air partner if possible.

Thanks.

Unless something has changed very recently in advance of the merger with US, and I have not seen an announcement to that effect, you can receive credit in your HA account; I have friends who do it all the time.

Hawaiian still lists it:
Earn HawaiianMiles on all routes flown by America West Airlines except those between two points served by Hawaiian Airlines. Make your reservations directly with America West and tell the agent you want to earn Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles.
Other partners you can credit miles to are Northwest (only when traveling to Canda/Alaska/Mexico or connecting to a Northwest Asia flight), Virgin Atlantic, British Airways (but only until 12/31/2005), and Royal Jordanian.

If you fly US at all, you could open an HP FF account and wait for the miles to be merged with Dividend Miles

How do you add other airlines frequent flier programs into the online booking.

Somewhere I heard mention that flying HP could earn points on Virgin Flying Club.
