Booking on US with confidence
I'm planning a honeymoon January 3rd through the 8th. At first I was really only looking at destinations served by HP, most notably Hawaii and Mexico. I guess I should be confident that HP will be US by then and shouldn't be afraid to book an itinerary on US metal as I guess I'll be a US Plat by then so it should in theory be a moot point

I think my own initial question got me thinking even more. Say I want to go to Nassau for my honeymoon. I book two flights on US, PHX-CLT-PID. If I were to book this trip in the next month say, how would I input my HP FF number into the US reservation and should I assume I'll get 100% EQM's?
Thanks

I just created a separate US Dividend Miles account for my US travel... since everything credited to that will eventually end up pooled with FlightFund miles, it shouldn't be a problem.

Personally, if the elite qualifying miles issue is a deal killer for you, I'd suggest you wait a few days. An article published Saturday quoted Travis Christ, HP's VP of Marketing, as saying that frequent flyer details will be revealed within the next couple weeks. If there's a deal you can't resist and need to act now, then book it without entering a FF number and have it added later, once they have the ability to put an HP FF # into a US reservation. I think there's almost no chance that this deal won't happen -- it's just the details and timing that are unclear.
