ANA 2179

Hi all,

Im in a bit of a dilemma at the moment . I want to fly on ana 2179 narita to osaka. I know the seat map says its a 77W but how certain is this? Also i can book a F seat with expedia or a J seat with ANA but expedia is more expensive. Is there a way to select a F seat on the ana website?

Thanks a mill

It's almost certainly 747 or 77W. The ITM flight is just a tag-on flight for one of the longhaul aircraft to keep it busy during a long rest at NRT.

F seat is only for the Super Seat tickets which is probably why you can select it on Expedia, since it's probably offering you the Super Seat fare. On the ANA website, try searching for "Super Seat Premium" ticket which will also book you into one of these seats.

100% 77W. 747's are banned from ITM since April 2006.

As Stargold has said those F seats are for Super Seats which is called Premium Class now.

The tag on flight is usually very cheap if you connect from an international flight. If you just buy ITM-NRT it can be very costly. Also if you want to sit in the F seats you can buy up at the airport for 5000yen one way(doesn't matter what type of ticket award or paid) if there is open seats.

I personally find it only worth 5000 yen if you need those extra EQM for the following year. The flight is way to short to even enjoy. 50 minutes in the air. maybe 20 minutes tops at cruise.

I recently discovered that upgrading to Premium Class on the NRT-ITM portion does not increase your Premium Point accural. Perhaps ANA has changed the rules of accural for the domestic portions of international flights?

Also, if any of you are planning to upgrade with cash, be advised that the cost is now 7,000 yen as the 5,000 yen special fare campaign ended on March, 31 2009.
