ANA is missing out on some connecting opportunities from JFK without the NRT flight, which was intended to feed into the afternoon connection bank.
MNL-HND arrives at 8pm, can't connect to JFK flight that leaves in the morning.
HND-SGN departs at 5pm, too early for JFK arriving at 6pm (new earlier JFK departure should fix this)
HND-CGK/MNL/SIN all depart at 10am
Other connections can be made same day but with long layovers vs NRT and other hubs.
HND-BKK departs at midnight, 6 hour layover, will be 10 hours with new schedule
CGK/SIN/BKK/SGN-HND arrives before 7am, which means 3.5 hour connection to the JFK flight

NH5/6 upguaged to 777 thru March 2023
Just noticed that the LAX-NRT flights (NH5 & NH6) have been updated to 777s from 787s in the winter schedule. There's plenty (1 in 3 days) of 1st class (not the new Suite seats) availability for those looking to burn their VS miles.

I had been eyeing these flights and hoped that they would be the new Suite seats. I booked a roundtrip ticket anyways, but what do you think the chances are of them adding the new planes to this route? Did they used to have them before?

Of the 3 NH flight-pairs to LAX, only NH105/106 were formally announced to have the new 77W configurations. Having said that, the new 77W config has been sporadically swapped on NH5//6 over the summer/fall. It wouldn't surprise me if such equipment swaps occur in the winter schedule too.

I managed to book an ORD - HND F award in January 2023 back last February (2022) when the window opened for Aeroplan. I got an email a couple weeks ago my seat had changed, except it hasn't, I had 1K and still do, but it looks like that might be because they changed the plane to the Suite. It's fairly assured that is going to go now right since the schedule published? On my itinerary it says "subject to government approval" but I assume that's because NH111 hasn't started flying yet (and won't until Oct 30). I'm pretty excited to get to try the Suite and ANA F it's one of the last three major airlines I haven't flown first internationally for; I thought I was going to get the old product when I booked it (which is probably still nice).
Just wondering if I'm interpreting all that properly in light of all the schedule change info above?.

Due to a schedule change, I will have a one night layover in Tokyo in December with my arriving flight from USA coming in to Haneda airport and my outbound flight to SE Asia leaving from Narita airport. Is there a bus service now between the two airports or has it been suspended? Also, in December 2022, what are the Covid restrictions for U.S. citizens (visa, PCR test, etc.)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Who knows the rules for December 22nd, but as of October 11th the visa waiver is in full swing again. If you have a vaccine and booster you do not need a PCR test, if not then you do need a PCR test. Your will need to download the MySOS app and upload your vaccine cert or PCR test.

Is it sufficient to carry my White CDC vaccination card showing proof of vaccination and boosting? I do have another option for avoiding transiting from Haneda to Narita, but I am not sure if it is feasible:
If I am arriving in Haneda on Delta from the U.S. and connecting to SE Asia on Malaysian Airlines also departing from Haneda, will I be able to check in for my Malaysian airlines connecting flight within the transit area of Haneda airport or will I have to exit the airport and then check in again with Malaysia Airlines at their ticket counter? In other words, does Malaysia Airlines have a check in desk at Haneda within the transit area of the airport?
Thanks.

I don't know if Malaysia Airlines can check you in airside in Haneda, a question for the MH forum.

October 11 update.
- For routes to China, we will resume the Narita = Dalian route from October 26, and increase the flight frequency on the Narita = Qingdao and Hangzhou routes.
- On the Haneda = Seoul (Gimpo) route, in addition to the daily roundtrip flights on NH861/864, we will resume the NH865/868 route from November 16 with daily roundtrip flights as well.

Looks like ANA is resuming a lot of SE routes from HND
But YVR is still served by NRT. Making it quite difficult to connect YVR-NRT/HND-SE Routes.
For example, had you booked a week ago
You might have been offer YVR-NRT on ANA, then NRT-SIN operated by Air Japan.
But they aren't offering those options anymore, and making you do HND-SIN operated by ANA.
