ANA-UA transit / bags at HND

Award ticket booked from DEL-HND-SFO-TUS on ua.com using united miles. The DEL-HND segment is on ANA, and HND-SFO-TUS is on UA. I have an 8 hour layover in HND. I am just wondering if ANA will issue me boarding pass through TUS and check my bags through, or do I need to exit immigration at HND, collect bags, check-in again at UA counter? If I need to clear immigration at HND it will be an issue as I do not have Japanese visa. Just wondering if anyone has similar experience before? The entire flight is on single reservation.

I don't think there will be a problem with ANA issuing BPs and checking your bags all the way through since it's all one ticket. I've done that a couple of times from FUK, OKA and MNL. Might be a problem just because you're starting from India, but not likely.

As long as I don't have to exit HND it isn't an issue. I have done same airline international transit many times in multiple countries. What is different this time is NH-UA connection at HND, which is something I've never done before.

NH to UA in HND will be super smooth, a quick transit security check and that's it. As smooth as say SQ to SQ in SIN.
