Ticket purchased on united.com, flight is operated by an ANA, cash upgrade possible?

Hi there,
I wonder if it's possible to upgrade cabin on the international flight that's operated by ANA? The flight is 9 hours long, there are 10+ business seats at this moment, I am thinking about if it's possible to request "cash" upgrade at the gate or check-in? My cabin class is K, which cannot use GPU. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

K fares on ANA are not possible to upgrade with UA miles (or UA GPUs), only the highest fares are How to upgrade with UA miles on Star Alliance carriers

As for Cash upgrades, there is an ANA forum question as UA would not be involved, but will move your post there for the folks move familiar with ANA practices to comment.

BTW, it may be helpful to know if you purchased a UA codeshare or an ANA flight number?

No, that's not going to be possible.

You could always upfare through UA, but that's likely to be quite expensive.

I have seen a cash upgrade offer button on the NH website for 016 ticket. But when I clicked on it for fun it did not offer me anything. Seemed like it did not work correctly. Not sure what is supposed to happen though.
