Short check baggage

Hi everyone,

I have not found anything regarding short checking baggage on ANA flights. However, I have read that ANA employees usually play it by the book and are very strict when it comes to rules and regulations.

I'll be flying in J on a ticket issued by Lufthansa from Haneda to Frankfurt on ANA metal arriving on 4.25 pm, connecting to Milan at 12.35 pm on the following day.

As my parents live near Frankfurt, I am planning to spend the night there. And I would prefer to take my baggage with me. Will ANA check the luggage to FRA or will they insist on checking it through to MXP?

Thanks!

I don’t even think FRA will allow you to keep luggage at the airport overnight, so you would have to pick it up and go through customs at FRA. Even if that isn’t the case ANA has no rules on short-checking luggage in my experience.

Overnight layovers are usually fine for getting a short check.
