J class ORD-HND - light meal instead of 2nd meal?
We are flying in business from ORD to SIN stopping in Tokyo for a few days. My question is for the flights that offer 2 meals AND light meals anytime (which includes Ramen, cereal etc.)- would it be possible to order the light meal instead of the second meal prior to landing (or light meal instead of first meal)? Thanks - our first time on ANA.

Just request it an hour or more before the FA's start to setup the arrival meals. They stop preparing the anytime meals at some point.
BTW, my favorite is a burger and ice cream mid-Pacific.
You're gonna love NH from start to finish!

Any other tips? We are going RT in J - JFK-HND (stay a few days) then SIN. Reverse it's SIN-NRT-JFK - unfortunately, a 6am flight out of SIN so overnight at the airport. Flying with our tween and teen.

I agree, the entertainment options (especially for westerners) can be a bit dire. Loading up a tablet with programming prior to leaving takes care of that and then just enjoy the delightful ANA service, so much nicer than US carriers.

I looked at the menus and don't see a burger listed as a light dish anytime. This would be terrific for my teen - which route offers this?

Hmmmmm... It looks like the burger was cut from the Business Class menu. It's still on the First Class menu, though.
Perhaps you will want to bring a box of nice chocolates for the crew. Later, they may be able to get burgers from Fist if they aren't already taken.

Note that only a few burgers are catered for 8 F pax.
I enjoyed the NH burger and ice cream over northern Alaska just yesterday!
BTW, the CX burgers are even better than the NH burgers.

There are some decent choices on the menu:
Light Dishes Anytime (The following dishes are available at anytime after the first meal service.) Prepared specially for our vegetarian passengers (contains dairy products). Light dishes Vegetable quiche with broccoli sauce
・Grilled Japanese rice balls ・ANA original chicken curry and steamed rice Soup Corn soup KAYANOYA vegetable dashi soup ・Ukai special tofu soup Noodles
・IPPUDO rich-tasting miso “DAICHI” ramen
・Japanese udon noodles garnished with mixed vegetable and shrimp tempura Refreshments
・Garden salad, tomato dressing
・Cheese plate (Double cream cremont, Humboldt fog, Point reyes toma)
・Vanilla ice cream ・Fruits
・Yoghurt
・Cereal Snacks
・Mix nuts
・Mix rice crackers
・Fondant Biscuit
・Rice crackers (suitable for vegetarians and Halal certified)
I've had the Japanese curry and rice along with ice cream and it was quite satisfying.
One time my son and I tried the shochu. We both hated it (like drinking pure vodka). When the FA returned for the empty glasses, my son thought she asked if he liked it and he replied positively just to be nice. Apparently she asked if he wanted a second round! Next the FA brings him a refill!!!! haha
