can Hawaiian Airlines forward checked bags to NH at HNL? HA flights to/from U.S. mainland on NH flights to/from NRT(then onto NH intra-Asia flights)

Yes, Hawaiian and ANA are codeshare partners, so they definitely can from ITO, KOA, OGG, MKK, LNY or LIH to NRT and beyond.

Now on the return back to one of the HI islands, then they will check only to HNL and then claim your bags, clear customs and then recheck with Hawaiian.
