Confirmed changes and cancellations due to the 787 grounding

ANA is currently grounding all 787s in compliance with an order from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of Japan. As a result, many flights (including those not originally operated by the 787) have been shifted to other aircraft or outright cancelled. ANA is releasing lists of changed and cancelled flights here. However, please also check http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/japan/e/loc.../flightstatus/ (domestic) or http://fli.ana.co.jp/fs/intenmenu (international) to find out the status of your particular flight.

ANA is also waiving change, cancellation, and refund fees. For any domestic tickets with a segment on a 787 booked through January 31, this can be done online via ANA Sky Web. For all other tickets, please contact the relevant domestic or international ANA reservations line, ANA Mileage Club (for redemptions), or your travel agent. Please see this link for more information.

ANA Dreamliner makes emergency landing - ANA (and JL) 787s grounded

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Boeing 787 operated by All Nippon Airways Co made an emergency landing in Takamatsu in western Japan after smoke appeared in the Dreamliner cabin, public broadcaster NHK reported on Wednesday.
All passengers on board were evacuated, it said, without giving further details. The plane was heading for Haneda Airport in Tokyo, it said.

There's a video here http://www3.nhk.or.jp/daily/english/20130116_13.html
showing the chutes deployed and fire trucks around it.

Everyone safe, but the TAK is currently shut. Some ANA flights have been diverted to/flying from OKJ.

Exactly what they didn't need after a series of mishaps. The PR department at Boeing is going to have a tough few months ahead.

Source? ANA hasn't released an official statement as far as I can tell.

Press conference is going on now, JAL grounding too for emergency inspections. Seems that all Japanese 787s grounded at least for Wednesday--they are not sure about Thursday and beyond. Sounds like 777 will be subbed at least on one route today.

Just saw it on seeking alpha too

http://seekingalpha.com/currents/post/763891

All Nippon Airways (ALNPY.PK) is grounding its entire fleet of 17 Dreamliners on the back of the recent emergency landing in western Japan, according to Japanese broadcaster NHK. Without quoting sources, the broadcaster tweeted: "Following the emergency landing, ANA will ground all its other 16 Dreamliners for emergency inspections."
Wonder what will happen to the new SJC-NRT route if they're grounding all their 787s ...

Looks like SEA and SJC are both cancelled today (tomorrow, Pacific time), according to FlightAware.

It's only temporary. Today's Flight 1076 (NRT-SJC) was cancelled. Flight 1076 does not operate on Thursdays. But it is still scheduled to operate on Friday and I am booked on that flight. I guess I will have a better idea of what is going on tomorrow.

"unbelievable and unjustified hysteria throughout global media"

"This incident together with three ground incidents of Boeing 787-800, that are outside The Aviation Herald's coverage, created an unbelievable and unjustified hysteria throughout global media"
