taxes/fuel surcharges

I was in the process of reserving a flight using miles from SFO-ICN on United, the first screen says the taxes/fuel cannot be calculated, contact ANA service
center, however it lets you enter credit card #. Will the amount charged come up before you're ready to confirm the reservaion?

I am interested in an answer to this as well. Does anybody here have any experience?

Tonight I went to look again at a SFO<->ICN roundtrip on United booked via ANA, and it showed the total fees/taxes, and I went ahead and had the award issued.

I am going business class on United and the total fees/taxes came to US$378, of which US$300 was the fuel surcharge.

I did Chicago-Bangkok via Tokyo last January on ANA miles. Fuel surcharge was $587! Totally ruined the feeling of an AWARD ticket. Flying again in August on AA award with Cathay. $37 total (tax).

When it comes to charging taxes, fees and fuel surcharges on redemptions, US carriers are the exception, not the rule.

How can I determine what the taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges will come to on this ANA itinerary? I am thinking of booking it for September, but currently don't have enough miles:
