ANA announces first 787 commercial flight
It's a NRT-HKG charter, a month after delivery. Also there will be a 787 scenery flight from NRT too

ANA is launching a campaign to celebrate this too. If you fly TWO NH between Aug 1 and Sep 30 on eligible tickets, you will have a chance to win
A. Ticket on NRT-HKG 787 flight+1 night hotel x 5
B. NRT excursion 787 flight x 300
C. Limited edition ANA 787 coin purse made with cabin fiber x 787
If for whatever reasons you can't fly on the 787 flights, NH will replace prize A with a 787 domestic roundtrip ticket and prize B with a 1:200 787 model in special livery.

That is a big surprise!
The first commercial flight will not be a domestic one.
Since the champagne entry is valid through September 30, the first commercial flight will be in the mid October, I guess.

Yes, it won't be in Sept. NH is expecting Boeing to deliver the first 787 in mid Sept and first flight is about a month after delivery

I will certainly give a try for the HKG package as the NRT-HKG inaugural flight will be on my birthday.

All the links for the HKG flight inaugural lottery and tours come up only in Japanese.

The inaugural to HKG is on my birthday. I want to take a chance and be on the flight.
I was already on the first A380 flight with passenger (via Singapore Airlines fleabay auction) with a big birthday cake on board on the return flight.
I want to try my luck with ANA for another First to Fly birthday.

One time on my own lottery bid - added one friend as travel mate.
Second time as travel mate for one friend in Japan.
Third time as travel mate for another friend in Japan.
I have used a family address and phone number in Japan to register.
None of us have heard any news from ANA.
Winners names were supposed to be published by ANA by 16 Septermber.

So they already have the HKG inaugural flight lottery winners?
Unlike with the Singapore Airlines A380 inaugural - no First to Fly the 787 birthday for me this time... meh...
...the non-winners did not get notified - sending an automated email to the unlucky crowd would have been a no-brainer for ANA.
Looking at the charity auction for the business class seats it will not be in my price bracket I am afraid.
ANA is a discriminatory airline - not allowing non-Japanese residents to be on the 787 inaugural.
No way to go ANA.
