Question Comparing 767 (2-1-2) with 777 (2-3-2)

Howdy folks.... Just flew from BKK-NRT on an ANA 767, in the 2-1-2 business class. I have to say, among the least comfortable business classes I've flown in. Very hard to sleep. Seat angle was very far from 180 degrees. Awkward position of foot rest.

I'm supposed to continue on to the US on an ANA 777, configuration 2-3-2.

Are these any better? If not, frankly I just might cancel the US leg. It really messes me up to lose a night of sleep in an uncomfortable seat and takes me a while to recover. I have found it affects me for a week or two after the flight, the difference between a comfortable seat (I.e., lay-flat united 747s) and uncomfortable seat (i.e., the ANA 767).

If anyone who has a basis for comparison of these two seat types could let me know their impression, would be helpful. Thanks!

That looks exactly like what I flew on the 767....

So it sounds like the 777 is better? That's a relief.... I would have a hard time on a transcontinental flight in the 767 seat.

IMHO, the Business seat on the 77W is much better for sleeping than the 767. Still I prefer the UA seat even more for sleeping. But, if you were switch to UA, you give up the better Soft Product that you get on NH. I would give the NH 77W a try and see how you like it.

Keep in mind that the 77W with new seats is only on the JFK route; all of the other routes have the older lie-flat seats. Still, both are better than the regional 767 seats.

Quick question on ANA 767 and 777- both the older versions. I have chosen seats in the first row of C -row 3. On some planes being in the bulkhead or first row of section means less leg room- is that the case here? I can't find diagrams of these flights on Seatguru.

Thanks.

I've flown in row 1 on the intra-Asia 767(-300ER) and there seemed to be slightly more space than the other, non-bulkhead rows.

Still, as far as *A goes (CA aside), NH has one of the worst Intra-Asia C seats. I've kept that to 744's and 772's; unfortunately NH doesn't use those (much) on Intra-Asia flights any more.

Also the new 77W seats can be found flying to Frankfurt and London so three cities although on a recent experience my London flight was swapped to an old configuration 777.
