Alitalia Transatlantic Discount

Seems like a small bug or unintentional discount, but it appears that if you book Alitalia on their web site for transatlantic travel, if your US gateway city is different for departure/arrival, you only get charged the fuel surcharge in one direction, which effectively is a $65 discount. Not bad!! I figured this out after trying to book JFK-FCO and after trying JFK, tried NYC just for the heck of it, and I got more options, that included JFK-FCO-JFK $348 + ~$220 taxes/surcharges, or JFK-FCO-EWR or EWR-FCO-JFK for $348 + ~$150 taxes/surcharges. Enjoy!!
