New fleet for the AZ newco

Article in today's Corriere della Sera, based on leaks (from 4 sources, they claim) about the new Alitalia's future fleet:
https://www.corriere.it/economia/azi...4321fed0.shtml
(in Italian, behind soft paywall; open in an incognito window)

Basically it's saying that in future AZ short-haul flights will be operated by A320s (possible A320neos), whereas the AZ Cityliner Embraers will be replaced by A220s. Long-haul would be operated by Dreamliners, a mixture of 787-8s and 787-9s. (Though the article says that Airbus haven't given up on the long-haul, and are apparently offering the A330neo and A350 at very deep discounts.

Apparently some parts of the Dreamliner are manufactured in Italy, by Leonardo. (Which also produces part of the A220s). It's implied that this is a factor in the decision-making process.

Fair enough that a de facto state owned company since 19XX (independently on what's going on in thosedays) wants to support another company like itself
