Any luck extending ticket beyond 12 months?

Hi all,

I was curious if anyone has had a special case of a COVID cancellation: ticket issued in September 2019 (and valid through September 2020)
Outbound leg is flown but not the return, which was booked for July 2020. The segment was canceled (of course) and I am skeptical that a potential rebooking for August or September would stick

Has anyone been able to push a return leg beyond the original 120month ticket validity?

Thank you!

Update, if you care :)

~30 min on hold (US call centre) and agent was able to rebook me on a flight that is scheduled to operate in August (aka, not cancelled yet)

When I asked about the likely scenario that I'd be unable to fly as scheduled as the flight might be again cancelled, he said they would be able to bend some policies around the 12 month expiration and keep the ticket opened beyond that

We shall see! Def taking it with a grain or dozen of salt
