Not Letting Me Change Seats [KL coded AZ operated]

Not Letting Me Change Seats [KL coded AZ operated]

Hi,
Newbie here but local planespotter.
I'm about to fly a flight booked through KLM and operated by AZ in 3 days.
I wasn't aware of the seat assignment process until recently. A friend travelling on the same flight was able to select his seat, but for some reason I can't.

Does anyone know why? Hopefully not overbooking?

Thanks - any input is much appreciated.

Do you have status with the carrier, perhaps that is the main issue. Most European carriers only allow high status travelers of their frequent flyer program to select seats, or you can pay to select your seat. Otherwise, wait until 24hrs prior to departure, upon on line check in, and pick from there.

Why should KL let you select seats if it's an AZ flight. Check with AZ.

With AZ and KL, you will only be able to select a seat at checkin when the marketer of the flight is not also the operator.
