IMO, the Italian government should've waited with any announcement of a loan until it is decided what is going to happen. The smart idea would probably be to set up "Italian passenger recovery" fund with the 300M € and use that money to get stranded passenger where they need to be.
If AZ goes up in flames, your ticket will not be worth the paper it is printed on. And if there's a miracle, then you'll be able to use your ticket.

Interesting, but don't know Italy's politics well enough to know if this is meaningful:
Italy's Renzi says would propose plan for Alitalia future by mid-May
ROME (Reuters) - Italy's former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who is running to become the leader of the ruling Democratic Party, said if he wins Sunday's vote he will come up with a plan to rescue loss-making airline Alitalia by mid-May.
Speaking during a debate ahead of the primary vote, Renzi, who stepped down as premier in December after losing a referendum over his flagship constitutional reform, said: "If we are elected, by May 15 we should present a proposal to the government because there has been a saga built around Alitalia, a festival of errors. It's absurd for a country like ours with a lot of tourism... to throw away such an opportunity."
Renzi said, however, that no public money should be spent on the airline.
Workers at the airline on Monday rejected a plan that envisaged cuts to jobs and salaries as a condition for a recapitalization of Alitalia. The government led by Paolo Gentiloni, who succeeded Renzi, has ruled out nationalizing the country's historic flagship carrier, which is now preparing for special administration proceedings.

Frequent rumors (mostly gossip I believe) from main Italian newspapers keep mentioning Lufthansa.
Corriere della sera just reported that LH proposal is 9k jobs cut, only after bankruptcy (no debts), all owned fleet sold to LH.

Looking at a few searches I have done this evening on the Alitalia website (Alitalia app seems to have died), looking for flights from Rome to BARCELONA/Madrid/ATHENS/London are all coming in at a minimum of €350 one way as the light fair. All promotional says appear to have disappeared, and the website does not react well if you try to search for a flight which leaves in June and returns in July, returning an error message.

The question is however if the European Commission would green light an acquisition of Alitalia by Lufthansa. It would make the LH group much stronger in Europe and I could see the acquisition being refused on the grounds that it potentially harms competition.
LH carried nearly 110M passenger in 2016. Add the 20M or so transported by 130M and you can see how this might seem troubling. It would put them way ahead of FR in terms of transported passengers.
Another argument against an LH deal is probably that they don't want legacy of Alitalia and prefer to expand their own brand (Air Dolomiti) and jump into the holes left by a dead Alitalia.
There's certainly lot speaking for and against LH Group making their second debut (after the failed LH Italia) in Italia. The same can however be said about AF/KL or IAG.
I doubt that LH or any other group will buy Alitalia "as is". Probably better to just be the good stuff during the liquidation and start from fresh with new terms for personnel. Otherwise, they'll risk strikes over the coming years (similar to those on LH mainline).

In the days after Swissair went into temporary receivership, no one would accept their ticket not do an exchange on them. I had RTW ticket issued by then SR with SQ and DL. I was in BKK when news of SR hit and SQ at BKK would not accept the SR issued ticket. SR would not change the ticket so I went to SQ ticket office and they only did so after a few tense hours unless the BKK-ZRH-BUD sector was changed to BKK-SIN-ZRH which I was grateful.
So if you hold AZ issued tickets you might have more problems getting any airline to accept them. If your tickets are issued by DL or other partners, it will be easier to change them.
