Alitalia Bus

Ok, maybe it's just me and this is old, but I've read today on the new issue of Ulisse - the Alitalia mag - that Alitalia runs a shuttle service to the airport, the 'Alitalia Bus'.
Stops: FCO, Roma Ostiense, Roma Termini, Roma San Giovanni in Laterano, Roma San Pietro.
Eligibility: people flying AZ - AZ ticket required.
Tickets: at FCO, or online at alitalia.it, after flight booking.
Fare: € 7 OW

I noticed the same thing, and I think it is new, as well as a good idea.

And it's slightly cheaper that the other bus shuttle services and the train: 7 vs 8.

When codeshares are involved, is there any indication what qualifies as an AZ ticket? Ticket with an AZ flight number, or AZ metal?

It's not active yet, at least for some category of flights.
I've just booked MLA-FCO-MLA, at alitalia.it, and the only options are hotels and cars.

@rove312: Anything booked on the AZ-code of a flight, whoever the operator is, counts as an AZ flight, if we are talking about AZ/MM rules, for AF/FB it is different.
@Alice11: I'd have been surprised if it were online already. If you call they might give you more info, or in any case an online advertising campaign should start soon enough.

Alitalia Bus Shuttle

I've tried for two days to purchase through the internet site with no luck. Called Alitalia and they don't have a clue. Anybody have any success?

:

:D. That sounds like good old Alitalia to me, all right! :D

The Alitalia bus is appealing because it stops at Terminal 1 where I'm arriving. The other bus service stops at Terminal 3. Anhyone know the distance between 1 and 3?

The link on the Alitalia website [redirecting to Alitransport] is now working again.

After I enter all my personal data, I get the following response:

"With your departure flight code, you can reserve the service just at:
- Leonardo da Vinci Airport meeting point, in front of Terminal 1 arrivals, close to Alitalia Buses;
- Termini Train Station meeting point, Via Marsala close to Bar Trombetta
CHANGE YOUR DATA"

The site will not let me complete my transaction. A poster on another site opined that this site is only for groups that pre-arranged with Alitalia. Seems strange; but mabe true.
