Where does this info come from? The official announcement only points to the Borromini lounge in D area, which is a great place but far as hell from B gates.

The newsletter.

Ill be transitting through FCO next month (Arriving on KL T1, departing AZ T1) and would like to use the lounge if time permits. Are there chances the lounge might be closed in a month? I dont know any Italian so the above message is not quite clear to me..

That lounge at T1 is not ran by AZ. It's a contracted lounge. So the lounge is open but AZ stated that its passengers will not granted access.
While waiting for the new, AZ, lounge at B gate area, the nearest Alitalia lounge in the Schengen area is at D gate area:

No security or whatever to clear, and it's just a walk

No news. You can use the lounge before security.

It will be much simpler for you to go through passport control and end up at the lounge at D gates.
