Lodging in Juneau Alaska
I need to be in Juneau late July and would love to stay someplace comfortable that has some character -especially one with a view.
Then, I plan on a week or so vacation exploring the natural beauty. First time to Alaska.
I haven't done much research yet as I'm in the midst of moving .
Thanks so much

Hikes around Juneau
Thanks for the links- great info and for the offer of hiking advice.
I am very interested in hiking...no overnight adventures.
I don't fish but I do love water, birds and all wildlife, and beautiful scenery.
Thanks!

As for hikes, if you have a car or can take a cab I'd recommend:
John Muir Cabin hike- trailhead near the fire station in Auke Bay. About 3 miles each way. Gorgeous views of the Juneau area.
Eagle Beach- about mile 24, Glacier Hwy. Flat hike, lots of porpoises & Eagles.
If no car, either Mt. Roberts, Perseverance or Granite Basin are spectacular, with trailheads downtown. Mt. Roberts allows you to hike up, buy a beer, and tram down. Spectacular views of the harbor & Admiralty Is.
