Alaska earthquake November 30, 2018

How are people doing? The pictures I'm seeing of broken roads, etc. look bad. It was centered very close to Anchorage and the southern Alaska coastline had a tsunami warning which has now been lifted.

No train service in the entire state and the pipeline is also shut down.

Fortunately there have been no reports of death or serious injury, just some severe property and infrastructure damage. It will take some time for some of the roads to be repaired.

The main train service this time of year is freight trains. Passenger trains only run once a week between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Reports are that train service might resume sooner rather than later.
