Travel to Alaska [Purchase or wait for saver award availability?]

I would like to travel from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska in middle of August with a possibility of stoppage at PDX (4 tickets).
I have been searching for award travel but not getting anything for 25,000 miles.
I am seeing the following fares: AUS-ANC (stop PDX) at $500 or AUS-ANC(no stop) at $375.
Do you guys think I should keep searching for award travel or buy the tickets to save the Miles ( I have miles/pts in UAL/UR, AA, US Air. BA, Flex Perks, Delta, SPG).
Thanks.

$375 is a good price at that time of year. I'm looking at $500-800 for 11/2013 depending on MKE or GRB.

Try Delta, I see some 32.5k RT's if you're flexible on your outbound. Idk about stopover as it connects at MSP

honestly $375 is a pretty amazing fare for the high season, and you would get a lot of RDMs out of it, and MQMs if you are shooting for status on that carrier...

FWIW, we found very little saver F award availability to ANC...ended up booking on US DCA-PHX-ANC.

But a couple days before our trip lots of saver F space opened up on the more rational IAD-SEA-ANC. ^
