New businesses opening at ANC

Am particularly enthused about the Silver Gulch brewery operation!

From Alaska DOT&PF press release:

New concessions are opening up at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) this summer, both pre- and post- security (Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint). This will make more options available to passengers and Anchorage residents, whether they are traveling or not.

The first new business of the summer opened on Friday, June 29, 2012. The new Hudson News and Gifts Euro Café is located in the public tunnel that connects the Rental Car Center and the Alaska Railroad Depot to the airport’s South Terminal. This store is the eighth Hudson News and Gift store at the airport.

Following on the heels of the Euro Café is the new InMotion kiosk. This kiosk, located in the pre-security area on the departure level near the regional ticket counters, is a full service store, offering the latest in entertainment and electronic accessories.

The new Cinnabon/Alaska Dog Haus, located in the Concourse B Hex, is scheduled to be open by the end of July. This outlet will offer a full line of Cinnabon products as well as grilled hot dogs with “The Works.”

Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling Co. is the latest full-service restaurant post-security. This restaurant, located next to Starbucks, will serve pizza and other food items along with a variety of brewed beer from the 49th state, and is scheduled to open later this summer. Also at this location will be a retail store offering logo merchandise and beer to-go in growlers and 6-packs (not to be consumed at the airport or on the aircraft). Now visitors will be able to take a Taste of Alaska home with them!

And last to open, but definitely not the least, is Grizzly Pizza and Wings. This restaurant is located in the pre-security area on the departure level next to the regional ticket counters, across from the new InMotion kiosk. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner items, and is slated to open at the end of the summer.

“We have been striving to give the regional passenger similar opportunities as those passengers in the post-security area. We believe the addition of the InMotion kiosk, Grizzly Pizza and Wings, and previously, the Cinnabon/Yogurtland stores, helps us accomplish our goal,” says Javier Robinson, Concessions Manager for ANC. “The new restaurants not only serve the regional passengers, they also serve those passengers who have been dropped off before their flight, those who want to have a meal or snack with their departing friends or relatives, as well as airport and airline employees.”
