Determing U space
I know some sites have been listed before but I can't find the thread. Could someone tell me the website where I can check U space for my upcoming OAK-SEA-ANC flight this Thursday? I think there is an Amex site but there is also another one IIRC.
Thanks

There are several ways to do this; you can see U space on the AS website - by checking if the gold U symbol appears on the fully flex fare of the flight you are interested in. U space also shows up on KVS - even the free version (though I encourage you to pay for Platinum after you have tried out the free version).

AS' website is delayed and therefore not reliable- its ok for checking theoretical space
There was an excellent website based off amex but IIRC its (and other websites) SABRE link went down and they are using a different source- which is vastly inferior-
Best thing-> call AS periodically to see if it opens up...

Yes, I was trying to remember the Amex site and their was another site that requested donations but if what you say is correct, it's all theoretical anyway. The Alaska website says "U" is available and there are several FC seats available so hopefully since I'm Gold, I'm at the top of the list.
The amex site was 'real time' from what I could tell- I'd be on the phone using a paper cert and the second I gave the ok- the U would dissappear-
Even before the res online reflected the change
This however has changed... and I am sad

Outbound 6/4/09
OAK-SEA #341
SEA-ANC #105
Return 6/9/09
ANC-SEA #86
SEA-OAK #354
I originally thought I was going to use my UG certs for this trip but since I booked a trip from OAK-OGG in December, I thought I'd save my certs for then.
Thanks,
Rob

Using KVS Sabre/GTC availability beta version
Outbound 6/4/09
OAK-SEA #341 - U=5
SEA-ANC #105 - U=7
Return 6/9/09 - There must have been flight number changes as the flight numbers don't appear on the AS website.
ANC-SEA #86 - I see for AS82 Departs 9:30am U=6.
SEA-OAK #354 - I see for AS348 Departs 3:15pm U=7. Well all SEA-OAK shows the same availability
I try to look up the same on AMEX tool but half the fligt numbers dont even come up

Oh, I forgot www.seatcounter.com - which also shows U buckets.
I don't claim to be an authority on just how up to the minute any of these are.

Thanks for the info. Seatcounter was that other website I was trying to remember. I was able to determine my returning flights also have 7 "U".

Seatcounter is inacctuate and always seems to list 0 or 7. AMEX tool was the most accurate. When SABER ITN method went offline the AMEX tool switched to the same backend as seat counter making them both inaccurate.
The new SABRE method GTC is going to be available through the KVS tool. Platinum members can sign up to beta test new version. I'm not sure what expertflyer is doing because i have never used it before.
