AS to paint 738 in retro livery
From a link that Sea_Tigger posted elsewhere:
Pictures of the four liveries at http://www.leeham.net/filelib/ScottsColumn091206.pdf. Scroll to page 6.
[Alaska Chairman Bill] Ayer noted that Alaska Airlines is approaching its 75th birthday and presented four retro color schemes for application on a new Boeing 737-800. A final vote will be held by employees.

A metal scheme reflecting the DC3 would look good, but an AA knock off. AS should use several retro schemes including the 80s scheme, and all the various tails in the 70s (miner with pick, totem pole, etc). Maybe a new Seahawk One would look nice too.
Scroll to bottom of this page (http://www.airplanegeek.com/B737.html) for retro AS 734 I created a few years ago.

The tours promise something different for jaded jet-setters. For $850, which takes care of all expenses (even liquor), travelers will get a whirlwind eight-day tour of Siberia. It will include a flight with a view of the Great Wall of China, a banquet in Irkutsk, a hydrofoil trip on Lake Baikal and a visit to the Bratsk dam. For another $400, the package will stretch to 15 days. Aeroflot, the Soviet airline, will take over at Khabarovsk and fly tourists to Moscow, Samarkand and Tashkent.

I remember flying an MD-80 as a little kid painted in the previous livery and being disappointed because the 727 next to us at the gate had 1 more engine and the current "cool" paint.
Right now I think it'd be cool to have an MD-80 in the previous livery.
