Bilt connection with AS CC

Excuse me please if posted in wrong forum.

Looked at both Bilt site and AS site and still don't understand.

My apartment has an agreement or whatever it is called with Bilt, so I enrolled for auto pay with my bank and list AS CC as per their website.

I neither have Bilt CC nor want an additional CC if I can avoid it.

As it is set up, do I get the minimum monthly 250 Bilt points. (Making me wonder point in listening my CC at this point).

Does it come out of my bank account with nothing happening on AS CC?

Should I have put AS CC instead of bank account to pay rent?

Do I need to make 5 transactions monthly which I don't see how is possible without Bilt CC?

Thank you so much for reading my lengthy post and answering anything.

charges to AS card. but you need to pay a transaction fee of around 3% (cant remember clearly). there is no fee for using the bilt card, so it's better in that sense. no need min 5 transactions

Not exactly sure of your specific situation with your apartment complex, but I have the Bilt card and enjoy it so far. (FYI, it's a Mastercard issued by Wells Fargo)

If your apartment has an agreement with Bilt, I believe you can pay rent using your AS Visa, but you may miss the 3X Alaska miles earning bonus offered via having a Bilt account.
  • For example, if you have the Bilt card and you pay rent each month (instead of a mortgage), you can connect your Alaska Visa in your Bilt account and earn 3X AS miles per $1 spent on rent.
  • Say your rent is $3000, you earn 9000 Alaska miles each month plus 1000 EQM (capped at $50,000 rent payments per year). There is a 3% fee to use the AS Visa, but may make sense for some folks.

T&C from Bilt:

"Alaska Airlines Visa SignatureŽ 3X Rent Spend Benefit
1. Eligible Alaska Airlines Visa SignatureŽ Cardholders in good standing with Bank of America who link their Visa Signature card to their Bilt Account will earn three (3) Alaska miles per dollar of eligible Rent Spend when paying rent through their Bilt Rewards account on up to $50,000 dollars of annual Rent Spend as defined as the period from January 1st to December 31st of every calendar year, effective May 15 th , 2024. After $50,000 in annual rent spend, eligible Visa Signature cardholders will continue to earn one (1) Alaska mile per dollar of Rent Spend made through a linked Bilt Rewards account.
2. “Rent Spend” shall mean the regular payment made to a landlord for the use of residential property or land.
3. Alaska miles earned on eligible Rent Spend on the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card are fulfilled by Bank of America. Eligible miles will be deposited into a cardholder’s Alaska Mileage Plan account 7-10 days after their Visa Signature card statement close date. Bilt Rewards is not responsible or liable for the depositing, accrediting or accounting of miles to be awarded to a Mileage Plan account on Rent Spend.
4. Alaska Mileage Plan miles will only be awarded for Rent Spend made on an eligible Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card when processing Rent Spend through a linked Bilt Rewards account.
5. This 3X miles Rent Spend benefit is only eligible for Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Cards and no other Bank of America product.
6. A 3% fee applies to all rent payments made through Bilt Rewards with an Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card.

This offer is exclusively for Alaska Airlines Visa Signature cardholders. Alaska Airlines Visa Signature cardholders earn 3 miles (consisting of 2 bonus miles and 1 base mile) for every $1 spent on eligible Bilt Net Purchases up to $50,000 per calendar year. Net Purchases is defined as purchases minus returns, credits, and adjustments. Cash Advances and Balance Transfers are not considered purchases and do not apply for purposes of this offer. Eligible Bilt Net Purchases include Bilt rent purchase transactions billed under Merchant Category Code (MCC) 6513. Eligible Bilt rent purchases made during a calendar year will count toward the $50,000 annual maximum regardless of the miles awarded. To qualify for this offer, your credit card account must be open with active charging privileges at the time of fulfillment. Allow up to two billing cycles for the promotional miles to be credited to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account. If you make an eligible Bilt rent purchase with your Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card, and you revolve your balance, you will be charged interest on the balance. The value of this reward may constitute taxable income to you. You may be issued an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 (or other appropriate form) that reflects the value of such reward from Bank of America. Please consult your tax advisor, as neither we, nor our affiliates provide tax advice."

you do not need a bilt card, you only need to link your AS card to your bilt account, which is what OP is asking

Also those bilt bonus miles dont seem to trigger eqm you only get 3/1 regular as card spend (eg no double dipping)

Correct, I really would like to avoid getting a credit card.

The only way to get the big miles with no fees it to have the Bilt Wells Fargo MasterCard.

personally i dont think paying rent with your AS card is worth it. for every $1k rent, you get 1k AS miles at $0 cost with the bilt card, or 3k AS miles at $30 with AS card. technically it is $30 for the extra 2k AS miles at 1.5cpm, so i think it's worth the 1 card slot even if you churn especially over the long term

You have to also consider the value of eqm you ll earn with as card.
