AS SEA-YYZ (Toronto) Non-Stop (From 5/16/2024)

Did I miss an announcement that AS will fly direct from Seattle to Toronto? It is showing on the schedule in June.

Yep, main price is a balmy 262. Speculatively locked in a ticket. I guess now we wait and see.

2060 miles according to GC Map. Just enough for 140TP on BA in business class. How are the fares?

That bites. That would put it a mere 40 miles short of the threshold for free lounge access if flying in paid F.

Still, it's great there's finally an alternative to AC for this direct route. Though the surprising part about this for me is that the new route will be on Alaska metal. After the Porter partnership was recently announced, I fully expected a direct SEA-YYZ route to eventually be introduced, but I thought it would have been provided by Porter.

Porter could still launch a counterpart service if demand warrants. In fact it would be more likely Porter adds the second frequency than Alaska does.

Glad AS is acknowledging this as a return to destination.

Interesting add.

Im. So. Happy!

Finally a meaningful option from the west coast to eastern Canada other than AC. *looks at canceling Aeroplan account*

I can connect from AS to PD to YOW.

FINALLY!!!!!

I actually want to be on the inaugural Im that excited!

Technically....VX served YYZ....so this would the 3rd try at YYZ!

Im sure a fare war will be coming with PD and AS starting service.

AC J will provide lounge access so it'll be interesting to see if AS makes a carve-out, or if they undercut AC on fares, or...who knows.

My friends in Seattle are very excited by this news.

sadly Mrs767 and I won’t be able to enjoy the inaugural SEA-YYZ flight, as we’re currently booked MAN-DUB (EI, using AS miles) that afternoon

that being said, if the route survives (and, of course, if prices aren’t unreasonable in comparison to NYC/PHL/WAS/PIT), we may well be taking advantage of it 2x/year
