First Class Lounge Access

I understand that AS lounge access has changed over the last year on lounge access is only given to folks traveling in F over 2100 miles. I am traveling in F from SJC to NAS via LAX (the NAS flight segment is over 2500 miles).

I am booked in F having upgraded using GGU's (U Class). Will I be able to access the AS lounge at LAX going out and coming back?

You will not have access. First class access is only for paid first, not upgraded.

But I'm pretty sure that you can buy the discounted $30 pass.

This, and then it will only be valid at the location at which it was purchased. It looks like AS calls these ‘single entry lounge passes’ now.

Wouldn’t OP as OW Sapphire (per their FT profile) get access to AS lounges?

AS Lounge Access Rules

So far it looks like the 75k passes are still called “Lounge Day Passes”.

I don’t see myself buying any lounge passes, but sneaky that it’s no longer a day pass.

I believe so as NAS is outside of the US, Canada, and Mexico. From as.com:

Alaska Airlines Emerald and Sapphires may access the Alaska Lounge when traveling on a oneworld® member airline to a destination outside of the US, Canada, or Mexico.

From oneworld.com:

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan MVP GOLD 100K, 75K, and MVP GOLD members may access oneworld lounges when travelling to somewhere outside of the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

Good catch, I didn't even notice that.

the only caveat would be that if they are OWS via AA, then no. AS and any other OW member, yes. (to NAS)
