Segments run issue
Hello all ,
I need to do segments in coming weeks. I booked AA ticket with 2 AA flights + 2 AS flights (AS 1455 & AS 1090, both are AS metal), are these 2 AS flights counted as elite segment requirement too ? and is AS save fare counted too ?
thanks a lot

Are you talking for segments for AS status?
I think the segments should count even in saver fare. In the past I e done segments for ststus.

Regardless of the issuing airline, as long as the flights are marketed by AS (AS-coded) it would count as a elite qualifying sector. So just make sure your AS operated flights are not marketed by AA (sold as AA####).

"Flights purchased as Alaska Airlines flights and operated by Air Tahiti Nui, American Airlines, Condor, Finnair, Iberia, Icelandair, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways do not count towards the Alaska Airlines minimum segment requirement to earn elite status."

Thanks so much for replying. the reason why I was asking. I was trying to double confirm with AS. The agent said marked = ticketed.. so she meant that I need to issue AS ticket. it was hmm. a bit not like what I know in my knowledge. thanks again everyone

Slight tangent question... do we have confirmation that saver fare tickets count towards the elite segments qualification? Customer care on the phone told me no, but Twitter support said yes. There is nothing explicit anywhere on Alaska's website that says yes or no. The absence of such message would make me think they absolutely do. Might just HUCA to confirm with customer care.

Thanks for confirming. I also just got off my second call with customer care. This rep took much longer to check, but did in fact confirm the same. Great to know, especially for short flights where mileage earn will be so small anyway, and difference between Saver and Main fare is (relatively) significant.

Good reminder. Thankfully I have all the EQMs I need (thanks to international work travel), but just need more segments. Found a good fare for SFO-EUG same-day round trip, with a stop in SEA both directions. Up-charge for main ends up being ~$60. Considering I'll have laptop bag only for the day, I won't need overhead bin space.
