If you earned 100K in 2023 for the 2024 qualification year...
If they wait to process the choice benefits in mid-January, there is a gap at the start of every year. It seems odd to do it that way when all the other benefits carry over to cover that end of year processing period.

As this is a new benefit, I think this is the only year there is a gap.

So if you earn 100K (or requalify) in September 2023 for status year 2024, your Lounge+ membership is valid through your status year until December 31, 2024.

That would be ideal and I hope AS does allow the selection of the 100K Choice Benefit immediately upon achieving the elite status; however, I don't believe AS has published the timing of the selection process for the subsequent program years. There's also AS' wonderful IT issues to take into account, case in point: AS halted the distribution of 75K perks in Q4 (if I recall the timing) because of the EQM bonuses causing calculation issues with qualification metrics.

This is beginning to feel a lot like the AA upgrade benefit, promised at the beginning of the year and then delayed multiple times until past the first quarter. We never were able to use ours, as the routes we fly didn't have upgrades by the time we received the perk. Get on the ball Alaska, it's starting to smell like catfish in here.

I hope its not like the AA system upgrades… I sent a note to customer care/Alaska listens about the timing of those in 2021 and 2022.. (not expecting any response of course ………… Even with expert flyer it was a part time job to try and find a way to use them (at least internationally)……

As it's becoming evening now, I'm no longer believing that the selection emails are coming today. I qualified in November, and it's disappointing that the lounge choice benefit isn't being delivered timely. I don't think a company should use IT as a justification for shorting a benefit. If they can't fix the IT then adjust the benefit terms. I certainly expected this choice benefit would be available at the start of the year, given the fixed end date.

I have started emailing this week.

That could be the reason, but it's not a fair justification for delaying the benefit for anyone who has earned the benefit, nor a reason for silence on the implementation.

hopefully they are also amending the free wifi benefit with DL announcement for free wifi soon. Makes that choice even more worthless.

agreed. I could have used this lounge plus benefit a lot the past week while flying AA. Thankfully the capital one lounge was the better option in dfw. (Beats Amex or any other lounge right now).
