Business travel has been gutted in the Bay Area and Alaskas limited flights dont attract many business flyers outside sea and nyc. Even on UA my friends who are gold are getting upgrades which were impossible before.

even the T&C writers messed up and forgot that MVP75K also get an AA upgrade cert. Then again, all messed up implementations can be covered by the vagueness of the certain benefits, such as clause.

will not count toward certain MVP Gold 75K and MVP Gold 100K benefits, such as the 50k bonus miles granted on reaching MVP Gold 75K status or American Airlines international upgrade certs granted on reaching MVP Gold 100K status

Why do I have a sneaking suspicion AS IT isnt complicated enough to keep track. Nonetheless Im a perfect data point for it, as Im crossing 75k this weekend now with help of the bonus and will organically cross 75k the following weekend regardless of bonus

Last year they sere able to exclude those of us who needed AS BofA EQM to earn 75k from earning the 50k RDM bonus.

Then again, this time the PAE EQM promo doesn’t have those restrictions, so there is certainly room for bugs and confusion.

In your case I would be worried that you get 75k Lite without the bonus. And then when you get the extra “full fat” EQM, their software might not be smart enough to issue the RDM. I vaguely remember some people having to deal with that last year.

We shall see!

Also, its clear AS doesnt have the Cali market they want. On nearly every JFK/BOS transcon I have been upgraded right when the window opened, and more often than not First goes out less than full.

They should just add a column to the right of "Total" on the Activity matrix: "...Of Which Doesn't Count for the Pretty Things".

Lucky, my recent Sfo-JFK/EWR flights go out oversold and upgrades dont clear, the weekend flight backs are the hardest. Weekdays pretty easy to clear.

PAE-SFO will be in I, so assuming I can double-dip on the PAE promo, I think my EQM for that leg should be about 711 (base) * 1.5 (COS bonus) * 1.5 (CA promo) * 2 (PAE promo) = 3200 EQM. And I think my EQM for the SFO-HNL leg should be about 2394 (base) * 1.75 (COS bonus) * 1.5 (CA promo) = 6284 EQM. So roughly 9500 EQM total. My original SEA-HNL flight in C would have netted me 2677 (base) * 1.75 (COS bonus) = 4685 EQM, so I think I'll be doubling my EQM by adding the SFO layover.
You will earn 2 EQM on PAE-SFO & 1.5 EQM on SFO-HNL. The offers don't stack!

From the T&C

All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan program apply. This offer is not combinable with any other elite qualifying bonus promotions.

Its the deal killer for me. It cost me $80 more to get an itin that qualifies and I wont get the 75K bonus points. I'd rather just do an extra MR to be sure to earn the 50K

Except that I have found the AA certificates to be useless. I got two as a 100k and by the time we got them this year I’d already booked flights. And for a Euro trip next June I can’t find one single flight we can use them on - already! Plus the PE flights on AA are about the same price as J on Condor (yes a weak product), but for the price difference it’s doable and guaranteed and you get 200% EQM so 20,000 EQM miles from the west coast R/T.

But the 50k RDM would presumably not be useless

I received no email about this - funny i fly HNL>>SJC yesterday - the flight posted as soon as we took off cuz they needed to change the programming for MP.

Im at 88.7k all BIS - no promos.....i will hit "regular" 100k this year - so i will get 2 AA upgrade certs....but again limited.

Still waiting on how the 100k pot will be sweetened for next year!

I found the same thing, even peak summer JFK/EWR-SFO upgrade were easy for 75K, now its September and many F sold out ahead of time or only have 1/2 seats available.
