AS Moved to Terminal B - EWR (3/1/2022)
Flew out of EWR today and realized SFO, LAX flights were out of gate 60-68 area, and SEA fight was about gate 40ish… not sure where PDX, SAN flight are located…

Shame because the Admirals Club is in Terminal A. Now there is really no lounge option for anyone (unless you have PP and are there for those few hours a week when the LH J lounge is open).

Terminal A gate 30s was a mess. The security line a few weeks ago on a Saturday night created a widespread fear of missing flights.
There was a guy holding a sign saying 'wait time from here to gate 60 minutes' and that line was well passed AirTrain elevator area.
Definitely not want to experience the sense of fear walking toward the end of line but no end in sight.
No priority line for F as well (or at least what I was told that day)
Have not been to Terminal B, hopefully it would be better organized.

Sounds like to move to Terminal B is officially underway. AS will fully move into B in the coming months.
Terminal A concourse A1 has been shuttered for a few months now, so there have been a lot of changes among existing tenants.
Will be flying out of EWR for the first time since early 2020 on AS this week; have been flying UA ex-EWR throughout and ex-JFK for AS flights since earlier this year. Thanks for the (potential) terminal change update - will manage expectations accordingly.

the bigger issue appears to be common-use gates in two different piers that aren’t connected airside

Only 2 AS flights out of around a dozen or today departed from B3. It appears B3 concourse (gates in the 60s) are being used as overflow, as B3 concourse gates have been used mostly by INTL airlines (e.g. LH, SK).
All the rest departed from B1 concourse (gates in the 40s) - either gate 40 or gate 44.
Assuming Delta is still using B1 - that could be a possible explanation for AS going over the B3 for some flights. DL is supposed to move into the new Terminal A.

Correct - Terminal B concourses are not connected airside (nor are Terminal A concourses until the new one becomes operational).

This seems to align with what I was told by AS employees at EWR that they were taking over whatever F9 was using although I wonder how many gates they will end up with after everyone else settles in to their new locations. AS had 3 exclusive gates for a while until they started sharing A30 with B6 when they announced all the new flights out of there.
They could always always open their own lounge, especially when T7 at JFK closes, but then again Terminal B is also supposed to get redone eventually as well so who knows.
