FYI, the non-Clear TSA lines (including PreCheck) were horrible on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Non-Clear PreCheck looked like it was at least a half hour, and regular security was probably 3x. I thought I was flying out in an empty row until the window seat passenger arrived out of breathhe said he arrived at the airport 1.5 hours before departure and he was the last passenger to board. Very happy to have had Clear, even if that meant spending more time in the awful gate area.

Pinged Zach Griff - the author of The Points Guy piece - about this change, and here's how he responded:
'I was originally told by United execs that Alaska will be moving into the new Terminal A later this year. That’s why I reported as such.
Then, I heard from my contact at the Port Authority of NY/NJ, who let me know that the United exec misspoke and Alaska is not moving into Terminal A.
Alaska hasn’t told me directly one way or the other if they are planning to move.'

Rest of the terminal the same but definitely not as crowded with DL gone.
I had an extra 90 minutes today, so went over the terminal A first and used the AA lounge, so at least there’s that now that AA finally opened that up.. you have to clear security twice of course and take the AirTran, but if you have 90 minutes why not..
Regardless of new chairs and less people, terminal B is still the Bain of flyers existence.

At the least it looks like AS consolidated normal operations into B1, gaining Gate 42, although any delays to the evening flights will still end up getting moved to B2/3. They still, however, have Gate 40 which requires a tug when arriving as it's in the corner
