Crediting OW "U" Class (Upgrade Fare) to Alaska

I have an upcoming flight in economy on Finnair and have been offered an upgrade to business for 300 EUR. The flight will be reticketed in "U" class, which is a OneWorld business award class and not eligible for earning miles on Alaska. According to Finnair the ticket should still earn credit for the original fare class purchased.

I know that previously if a fare class was not on Alaska's chart, no credit would be possible. Has this changed? I am tempted to take the upgrade offer but not if I earn no miles at all for the flight. Have any members here encountered this issue post-OW and how was it resolved?

Plenty of U class on AA. Always credits as ticketed. Go ahead and take the upgrade.

The flight will post based on the original fare class, not the U class.
