What Are the Alaska App's Shortcomings?
Alaska was one of the first to embrace technology
years ago but app seems to be lacking in being updated
What would you like to see on a updated app?
Me Where plane comes from
and seat map until 10 min before departure

I was on a Delta flight a couple of years ago when we were stuck on the tarmac due to lightning. We were going to miss our tight connection in Seattle when the app literally set us up with the next best connection with the press of two buttons. We were really impressed by that. Considering I had no elite status with them, the app made the experience stress-free.

- ability to switch origin and destination fields (reverse routing)
- ability to look at the seat map for subsequent flights without scrolling all the way to the bottom of the map for the previous flights
- ability to book Miles and Money
- as mentioned, ability to use My Wallet credit
- as mentioned, view inbound aircraft

- Elite status bars that show this year's elite status requirements
- MP activity that breaks out EQM and redeemable mileage
- Ability to book EasyBiz itineraries, using cash, EasyBiz wallet, or EasyBiz miles
- Regions in origin/destination when shopping (ie. Seattle Area or Bay Area) like on the website
- When shopping for awards, detail about itinerary should show which segments are in the requested cabin

I have a simple one…. Make the row and seat number on the boarding pass bigger so you don’t have to use reading glasses as you walk on the plane to see it if you don’t remember it. both in the boarding pass in the app and the one which shows up in the wallet, which is even smaller.

My top suggestions echo what some others have said.
- ability to use wallet funds
- ability to see and use discount codes
- ability to see and use GGU
- ability to see and display/share lounge codes
- ability to book multi-city
- ability to change reservation (currently opens browser from app and requires login for deposit into wallet, etc)
- switch to/from airports with a tap
- fix the date bug that formats it incorrectly when backing out to change search

My wish list:
Ability to FLAWLESSLY book a reservation while inflight....(without the need to wait so long to connecting).
Ability to know when aircraft/seat changes...... (Been hit with a few A321 to A320 downgrades, B739 to B738)
Ability to know inbound flight progress.....
Ability to see accurate upgrade list for different cabins.... (F vs. Premium)
Keeping Boarding Pass accessible even after completion of flight.... (for AA lounge access)
Ability to add, update and delete reservation booking that is not associated with my frequent flyer number. Some of the booking I've made for my family no longer updates on the app (eg. my sister's booking).
