not a big sports fan, what am I missing, did he change job titles? Did he quit Alaska? why do you think it needs a new livery or justify specific routes?

Russell Wilson has been a good ambassador for Alaska. Why couldn't he continue to be while Alaska steps up and become the "Official Airline of the Denver Broncos" ? Probably because that'd include being the go-to airline to move the team from game to game and Alaska's largest jet - the A321 - is likely a bit small for that task. Still, if any airline could paint up an aircraft in an alluring orange and blue livery reflective of a partnership with the hopefully improved Broncos, it'd be Alaska. Certainly th0ey could do better than this
Given the Seahawk's relative success (104-53-1) over Russell Wilson's 10 year tenure there, I'm surprised there has never been a proper liveried Seahawk One. The original Seahawk liveried theme plane - using a 727-200 as the "canvas", was pretty lame compared to what can be done in the paint shops these days. And rather surprisingly, arch nemesis Delta is actually "Official Airline of the Seattle Seahawks" these days - again perhaps because they've got an aircraft large enough to fly an NFL team, its equipment and support staff around the country.
Perhaps someday we might see an Alaska 787 and then we can revisit this question...
