Are upgrades to FC eligible for AS 100K if booking a AA operated flight direct from SNA to ORD directly from AS website? I was able to choose immediately a premium seat after getting an AA reservation code using the AA app.

The long answer is you can load the reservation on the AA app and see that the upgrade has been requested but won't clear until the upgrade windows open.

can anyone clarify if AS codeshare on AA metal gets us complimentary upgrades? It used to be an issue, you have to book AA code on AA metal, or you will not get upgraded, but it was said to be resolved soon, anyone tried that recently?

I do apologize as I read it seemed like everyone was posting AA numbers and I thought it was all still on AA marketed flights. nobody was posting, for example, AS 6XXX, since those are all codeshare on AA metal.

A few observations:
-Noticed that for both the E175 flights that I was #1 on the waitlist with 1-2 seats left. I think the AA UG waitlist is published 8 hrs prior to departure. Thought it interesting in both instances the UG processor didn't run until 10 min before boarding
-For both E175 flights a boxed meal was served.
-A question/rant about AA SDC/Standby - will post a more detailed version of this in a more appropriate thread if I can find it but basically was surprised to learn that my fare class (M, which btw cost me over $1k - very last min since I had to fly to CAE for a funeral) was apparently NOT eligible for standby. And AS 75k status didn't matter either. Was really hoping to get to DFW earlier (as there are plenty of lounge options and nothing at CAE). Disappointed that AA was not accomodating on this considering my uncle (with no status on Delta) was able to get both his flights out of CAE and ATL connecting flight home switched to earlier times.

On Transcon A321T flights, does AA give complimentary upgrades to Flagship First?
