It has been known the post with the necessary merchant code (so that AMEX automatically posts the credit), but it to doesn’t you may be SOL as it’s not technically an eligible purchase.

Terms near the bottom: https://global.americanexpress.com/c...redit/platinum

I don't see anywhere in the terms where lounge memberships aren't eligible.

Mine was credited, even after closer scrutiny from the AmEx rep that I needed to contact since it wasn't auto-credited.

If it wasn’t auto credited it’s because the charge’s merchant code it wasn’t was on the approved list of for eligible charges. You may be able get AMEX to make an exception, but it’s not guaranteed.

Access to AA Admirals Club with AS Lounge Membership

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, but I have a question for people with an AS Lounge membership.

How's your experience been accessing AA Admirals Clubs? Do they generally let you in if you're flying on AS or AA?

Has your experience changed during the Pandemic?

Just curious since I'll be flying to areas with Admirals Clubs like SFO, LAX, Miami and Newark. Thanks!

No issues with AC access during the pandemic...I just visited the AC in PHL a few weeks ago before my AS flight to SEA and it wasn't crowded at all even on a Friday. They had yummy made to order guacamole with chips and a mac and cheese bar.

I’ve only tried it once in Miami. The guy couldn’t get it to work and told me he didn’t think Alaska lounge members got in . He ended up letting me in as a “courtesy”. I’m under the impression that this was a fluke.

Have done so dozens of times, including at the stations you mentioned. It's not even a curiosity to AA staff--just make sure you have your membership card (virtual, on your phone).

What's that say in the small print on the bottom left? Can't quite make it out.

It does, first time members only. 9/30 is when it ends, per concierge @ LAX.
