This is what I did for the AS award booking since you can't change the FFP from AS on the website. I booked as a New Traveler and left the FFN blank. Then I called in later to have my AA FFN added.

For AS revenue tickets, I just book as myself with pre-populated information and simply select FFP/enter FFN to whatever I want since the website allows that.

Did AS ever have flights departing from the S gates prior to Covid? I have been seeing them use it more and more for quick turns on the inbound international flights. Did they use to tow these across the field due to gate constraints from the amount of heavies, or have I just been unlucky more recently?

Yes, AS had flights departing from S gates pre-Covid. Generally it would have been aircraft that arrived in SEA from destinations that didn't have U.S. preclearance, but not necessarily. Some of them were Horizon flights from non-pre-clearance Canada airports.

But it is not a new phenomenon.

I don't remember AS using the B gates as much as they are now. I think that is probably due to giving AA so many D gates.

3 of the 5 Canadian destinations have US pre-clearance so they are arriving domestically. AS doesn't serve any other country outside of Canada from SEA. It has been over a year now since AS has served any Canadian destination other than YVR and those are arriving domestically.

Of all the flights I have been on in and out of SEA, I have only ever once departed on an AS flight out of S. That was last month; A321 SEA-FLL. I went from the lounge in N to S for departure... 3 trains - I was the only one on all three - to get there. The B stop was closed so the train went back & forth between S & A. The nice thing was the coupon with a 15% off fare code (included F) for The Journey to get to your Journey.

Canadian arrivals without pre-clearance would be from YYJ & YLW only. Both routes are operated solely on Q400s but haven't been served in over a year. Pre Covid, I have often arrived from YLW and deplaned onto the tarmac nestled under the wing of an EK 777-300ER. At times, those flights are parked by the AS hangar and passengers are bussed to the gate. They are then towed over to C.

PVR/SJD/CUN (Mexico) is another country.

Oops! I stand corrected! That would make sense for Mainline in S. Rather embarrassed now considering I flew SEA-PVR recently but returned vIa LAX.

Thanks,

I'm on Kauai and seeing AS tickets much higher to and from the mainland than the competition. Double and more. Anyone else seeing this kind of thing with AS?

I have been on a few California -> SEA flights recently and our arrival gates were S. First time in years.. hope it doesn’t continue because it’s a trek getting back to B/C/D/N gates.

I'm regularly flying (and buying) OGG >PDX and am seeing about $265 one way for going through LAX. $310 or so for a direct. This is certainly more than it was a few months ago but still not too bad. Just did a quick search and Southwest is about the same but going through OAK. Hawaiian is $253 for a non-stop which is a good deal. AS fares (and all airlines for that matter) certainly fluctuate a lot. There are always "teaser" rates on Expedia ($196 when I just checked) but I can't imagine all the fine print and restrictions.

There was also YKA. And the direct Mexico flights. One day when things get back to normal I hope that AS will also serve YCD. The island is as big as Britain and YYJ isn't central. Lots of population and tourism in the central and northern parts. Of course first the Canadians need to get the virus under control. It's getting a bit tiresome to hear Justin say that the border is closed to protect Canadians.

anyone knows if the row 9 (PC) seats recline on their Airbus 321? Row 10 is exit, but it'll be a shame if they mark a non-reclining seat as a PC.

They don't. Row 9 is the worst row on this aircraft, in my opinion. No window either.

This is one case where SeatGuru is actually correct:

Partner flights not showing

Hey, guys. Can you call AS to book a partner awards flight via phone that you don't see on their online system, but shows as available/open on the partner's online system?

I've been watching my AS flight from LIH to SEA on the redeye April 24th. Very early on it allowed me MYPG to choose PE. Now the overall price has dropped and 6A a PE seat is marked as a Saver fare seat while seats in the back are not. Are these IT switching to OW glitches?

Have noticed the same thing with seats marked as Saver in PE and Elite section. This seems to happen right before 24 hour check in. Looks like AS is trying to prevent flyers in Main from moving up at 24 hour check in. Exit rows also have Saver listed.
