Pitch between 18 & 17
738--Is there a little extra pitch between row 18 & row 17 (Exit Row) compared to the standard pitch in the Main cabin? Can the person in the window seat, 18A, get up without the people in B & C getting up?

16 and 17 have add'l pitch being they're the exit rows. It is not enough space to get out without disrupting B&C. 18 has no add'l pitch.

Yes, we're all special, just to different levels of special. Us 75Ks are sooooo special that we feel justified in skipping the MVP part and just say 75K. The danger here is accidentally becoming a DYKWIA (pronounced "jerk", though today's kids might pronounce it "Karen").

Have you called Alaska to see why you don't show up on the upgrade list, or do you now? There are still a few things to rule out before assuming that you were "skipped". For example, you say that the "cabin filled up in the past 48 hours and there is no one on the UG list". That could simply mean that there were 75Ks on the list in front of you who were upgraded (and wouldn't show up on the list now).
And to add icing on the cake, today we are returning on. On a separate reservation but using the same discount code. And the exact same experience. We checked in at T-24 and there are still 4 seats for sale. We don't show up on the flight standby list. Called twice. First agent says everything is fine. Second agent says that the reservation was marked for upgrade to Premium Class, but not for First Class. Says she fixed it. Ran checkin again. We still didn't show up on the upgrade list. At about T-22 the remaining 4 F seats get filled but we don't get them and we still don't show on the upgrade list.
I don't have any direct evidence, and it's impossible to get it. But it seems strange to have the same behavior on two separate reservations. I try to avoid booking two people on one reservation but some of the offers including the companion fare make that impossible. So this is either due to have two people, due to the discount code, or else something to do with the OneWorld integration - but something is amiss in the upgrade processing. I wouldn't whine so much but this flight is blocked at 6:30!

Hi, I have join the club. All in with credit card and status match. The whole 9 yard. Alaska was generous to give me 4 MVP guest upgrade certificates. I have been planning a trip. It appear that I can choose MVP guest upgrade or just MVP gold upgrade during the reservation process. Looks like most flights do not have first class seat available for either type of upgrade. My questions: if I use the Guest upgrade option, choose a fare for PC (because first upgrade is unavailable). Have I used up a certificate per segment? will I be able to apply the certificates later? What if there is a price differential between PC and first class upgrade?
I noticed that PC pricings are not displayed when selecting Guest Upgrade option. Will I be able pay for MC and "buy" PC seats at selection step?
Edit to add more question.

For the second part, I still don't know what the answer is. I don't want to try and get Y miles.

Using multicity to find additional AA award seats?
So i couldn't find a coach AA partner award on the days i wanted between PHL and AUS (RT). So i decided to book a oneway first class award one way and pay for my ticket on AA for the return flight.
After I booked I see that they are running the 788 between DFW and PHL so i was going to change my award ticket to fly first on a 788. When i searched it didn't show up, so i did multi city to force it and it came up available as a coach ticket
Now I figured I can book a full roundtrip coach award by doing multicity
1. PHL-DFW 5/13
2. DFW-AUS 5/13
3. AUS-DFW 5/22
4. DFW-PHL 5/22
When i try this PHL-AUS, AUS-PHL..it doesn't show anything but first claas awards. Will it work this way?

I also don’t see AA (AS)

Would you know why?

Also the actual seat that you sit in is like an inch shorter vs. Premium Class. So sometimes on long flights it can hurt my legs a little not having that extra inch cushion for the legs but it is worth it for me to have the space to work. Since I am just MVP the exit row works well for me since my partner can't be upgraded with me. Once I get to Gold this year then I'll start trying for PC upgrades for both of us.

TSA Pre-Check Number Disappears... Again!!
I swear someone at Alaska IT is screwing with me. This happens just infrequently enough that I stop checking and get burned. This is the 3rd time in the last 6 months. To quote the GA today, "It happens constantly and we have no idea why." Come Alaska.... figure it out!!!!
