You also have to follow their COVID policies (masks, stay outdoors, etc.)
If all goes well, the plan is to be there for only 1 night, and yeah masks are a given.

Good to know. I guess it doesn't hurt to fill out, but wasn't sure if there was some proof I needed to bring with me that I had it. Sounds like that is a definite no.

It’s actually an LA City form, but I can’t tell that anybody pays any attention to it. I live in unincorporated LA County and filled out before flying home a couple times, but there’s nothing about arrival dates or flights numbers. Since I’ve already done it I don’t repeat fill it out.

Form for City of Los Angeles (includes LAX, Van Nuys, & LA Union Station)

LGB, ONT, SNA, PSP all excluded, as they are either LA County, or another County

MVPG Chocolate or Free Alcohol in Economy?

Hey everyone,

tried to search this but couldn’t find it. Been on AS six times the last few months, but been in F each time. Looks like on Monday I’ll be in Economy, does anyone know if the free chocolate and free drink apply right now with modified covid service? I’m an MVP gold.

thanks so much!

Will you be in Main or Premium? If you are in Premium, you will have complimentary beer or wine as that is included in Premium. You would likely also get a chocolate bar for your status as well. It isn't a one or the other in Premium.

If you are in Main, I can't advise if they are also providing beer & wine for Elites. I haven't been back there in a long time. The beer & wine is certainly in the cart. They start at Premium & work back. I would ask, there aren't any provision for purchasing beverages onboard but a complimentary beverage might be okay. All Elites should still be getting the chocolate bar. In Main it should be one or the other for MVPG+

Thanks James! Pretty sure I’ll be in main for one of them. It’ll be my first time ever not being Premium or FC since switching on a status match September 2019 (Yes, I had potentially the luckiest timing of any status match ever).

Daytime SEA-ORD is not the move for upgrades, it seems!

Keep an eye on Premium. Those that are waitlisted for upgrades start to clear at OLCI. Generally, waitlisted are already in Premium so if they clear, a Premium seat will be vacated and you can change seats. With the middles blocked, you don't have to worry about getting stuck in a middle.

On a few PHX-SEA flights I have been on recently, when booking within 2-3 days, I chose the Exit Row because Premium was full. As a 75K, I still got upgraded to F. By T-48 hours all Elites are eligible to move into Premium complimentary. There are also more purchasing Premium for the blocked middle so there could be less Elites in Premium giving you a better chance at F.

Premium seats could vacate on same day changes or last minute cancellations too so it is always a good idea to watch out for them. Welcome to AS.

While not a match, I did a UA Challenge to Premier Platinum in 2019 and knocked it off in a week when I flew LAX-SFO-HKG-GUM-HNL-SFO-PHX. That is the most direct route between LAX & PHX, isn't it? With the status extension, my Premier Platinum status & *G streched from 08/19 to 02/22.
It has come in handy flying AC and a few UA segments that I wouldn't have considered outside the pandemic. The last QX flight out of my city departed 51 weeks ago. I can't wait for it's return.

Thanks for the advice! That’s exactly my plan, to check premium - I set up an Expertflyer alert to help me out. That’s great to know about your experience, and I was checking flights for my routings for a couple days later that showed premium being a $20 from ATL-SEA (something I’m sure a ton took advantage of).

Had extra wallet funds so I routed myself from ATL-ORD via SEA. If both are in Y... my privileged self will be regretting the routing! Thanks again for the tips.

Double charge

I made an 17.5K award rez. in Dec. In Feb. there was a small schedule change so I called in and accepted the change. Today I noticed that another 17.5K were deducted from my acct. on the day I called in, Feb. 14th. I called AS tonight and the rep. said she couldn't see the 2nd deduction & that I'd need to talk to Customer Service but their offices are closed until Monday. Is that true? I don't mind waiting until Monday but need to get this sorted fast as I need the miles to make another rez. What is the # I need to call on Monday?
Thanks!

If you hadn't gone indirectly, you wouldn't be allowed on FT!

I flew up to SEA for the inaugural MAX flight on March 1st & flew the 1st and 4th flight. I had SEA-BNA booked in F for $100 for March 2nd and I also had AA 77W J LAX-MIA flight booked for March 3rd from a prior award. Some were orphaned on other changes. I didn't want to give up SEA-BNA in F. Ultimately, I bought a BNA-SEA-LAX routing, also on March 2nd to tie them all up. The resulting itinerary was.

March 1: SEA-SAN-SFO-LAX-SEA
March 2: SEA-BNA-SEA-LAX
March 3: LAX-MIA-LAX
March 4: LAX-SEA-PHX

Spread over 4 days it was quite leisurely. No regrets. I was back in BNA 4 days later and spent a few nigfes.

Scroll down to the original deduction and see if there is a corresponding credit above it. For some reason, they don’t always list them in chronological order and the redeposit is shown right on top of the original dedication.

AA

I've been looking at some decent fares on AA. They're international Q fares that upgrade into P.
If I credit to AS, do those segments credit in Q (25%) or P (100%)?
(Sorry if this has been asked before)

Thanks.

I have flown many AA economy y-up fares (usually S class) that book into P (Premium Economy) The flights will credit to AS Mileage Plan as P class and earn 100% EQM. A real sweet spot. SCL-DFW-ICN earned 11,710 EQM A stopover in DFW was possible and on one itinerary a DFW-PHX-DFW side trip with MCE access on the strength of the long-haul P added $26 to the fare.

AA y-up fares into PE & J come along pretty frequently and are a good boost for Mileage Plan. Before AA & AS had a change of heart on the eve of finalizing their outright divorce and with the loss of 100% EQM on most QF Y classes, I was thinking my AS Elite Status days were coming to an end. MRing across America isn't as appealing as MRing around the world. I say MRing loosely as most of my "interesting" RTW itineraries are vacations to visit friends in other continents.

In summary, Yes, your P fare will earn 100% in Mileage Plan.

What kind of WiFi do the Airbi A321 have? Will my Gogo account work? And are they all WiFi equipped now?
