01/01/21 SEA-PHX AS932 75K with MVPG companion.

Processor upgrade cleared at T-24. We were upgraded right at OLCI so I don't know where we were on the waitlist as processor upgrades remove you from the upgrade waitlist. I originally booked in October, R fare class on a 6 segment circle trip with a companion certificate. Re-fared in early November for a ~$100 savings. Subsequently, I changed the itinerary to an alternate intermediary destination.

3 of 4 mainline flights on the itinerary were upgraded at the gate so no processor upgrades on the itinerary before this one. Nice to see processor upgrades. I haven't had one of those since September. After 1/1/21 our next flights will be on 1/7/21. It will be interesting to see if processor upgrades at the Elite windows will start on 1/2/21 for 75K's as 1/7/21 will be the first day post seat-blocking.

EDIT: It appears they are!

Processor upgrades back in Action!

1/7/2021 PHX-SEA AS923 75K with MVPG companion, R fare, upgraded at T-114.

January 7th is the first day post seat-blocking. It is nice to see upgrades processing at the upgrade windows again. This was originally a PHX-SEA-HNL itinerary that I changed online in the second week of December. The new itinerary is PHX-SEA-FLL.

I have an SFO-SEA for the same day that also cleared 114 hours out, so does look like things are somewhat back to normal for 2021.

I am now eagerly awaiting notification on the A321 SEA-FLL segment. I wouldn't be surprised if they held off on hopes of last minute sales though on a 2712 mile route. I hope they do. I am always happy to fly in the cabin booked and will have a blocked middle in Premium anyway.

Wow....75K and didn't clear on a Hawaii route where leisure travel is still depressed....tough loss, especially since you got added to the wait list back in September.

Well, given the multiple schedule changes that ensued, I imagine the date was reset. I was still quite surprised.

Yeah, I would have been surprised too....and disappointed since it's such a long flight.

I had two transcon flights this weekend with layovers into SEA, and one tomorrow morning and the waitlists are growing again. Even at the end of December I hardly saw more than 10 people on a flight; however, tomorrow’s flight into SEA has over 20 passengers and I’m at position 4 and purchased back in September.

Travel is certainly up ticking!

This weekend is certainly one of the more busier times for travel though right?

That I'm not sure. I have traveled on most days (M-Su) of the week, even in 2020, but I suppose this is a "holiday" weekend. I'll be sure to follow up with my next flights.

I was worried it would be, so I booked my return flight for monday night - I'll work from PDX monday, then fly back to LAX monday night. From the reserved seats the flight looks pretty empty - F looks empty, one other person in PC up through check-in, and maybe 6 seats reserved in back. I'm sure there are more tickets purchased than that, but it's a lot lighter advance seat reservations than at thanksgiving.

ETA: here are the checkpoint numbers so far, so sunday 1/3 looks like a peak.

The TSA projects Sunday will be the busiest travel day since the pandemic started. They are expecting more than the 1 million people that were screened nationwide on Saturday.
