Options: Chicken or Risotto, I chose chicken.
The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

Normally meals are decent, good microwave quality, but today was awesome. Great job Alaska! We did not get a cookie but perhaps the cake makes up for that.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entre Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

MCO-SEA (A321) last weekend they didn't put out the Purell wipes pre-departure. I asked for one and they gave me an EO.

SEA ORD redeye

Flew the midnight redeye last night after several gate changes which was an experience in itself, but was never offered fruit and cheese plate inflight which I was expecting. The flight in F had no food offered at all. The Rez did indicate no meal offered, but I thought I got food on my past ORD redeyes this winter......but am not 100% certain.....

Now the breakfast wrap...
I think in general the up front service pre covid is rather lacking, with the odd exception, Delta One coast to coast I have found to be pretty good. The cabin crew were happy to do trash runs, at least the offer of some bottled water would have been appreciated. Every time I went to the bathroom, I felt the crew in Economy were more active, just an observation, and yes our covid numbers Stateside are truly awful, so wasn't expecting a hot meal or anything, but a decent sandwich, the Alaska offering is rather below par in comparison to say an Aer Lingus or BA, the fares are still rather expensive.

They had the EO wipes on my DEN-SEA fight yesterday afternoon and the Purell wipes on the SEA-ANC flight last night.

I flew the 4:45AM ANC-SEA flight on Feb. 11. The only thing offered was the snack basket & drinks. Flight took off late, so technically it took off during meal time. This was a total miss by AS IMHO. 15 minutes to save on the catering costs.....

Do we know why Alaska doesn't offer food on the PDX>LAS and LAS>PDX flights?

This has been asked prior, but I don’t recall seeing an answer. I’ll try reaching out to AS. Ping me in a few days if I forget to follow up.

edit:

AS stated that the route historically has enough significant turbulence which limits usable in-flight service time to perform a full service They are aware that this route has interest in full catering and are reviewing it. Their focus is ensuring a safe in-flight environment.

Flying this Saturday IAH-SEA, 3:50 PM. What can I expect? Thinking about hitting the Cadillac Kitchen and Bar before the flight curtsey of Priority Pass. The food there might be better than in flight food.

I find the ham and cheese wrap much more appealing than the turkey sandwich, wish that wasn't just offered during the mornings

I just returned LAX-SEA on the 4th Flight of N913AK, The new MAX is resting back at C9 where it started the day.

I changed to AS705 before OLCI from an earlier flight in paid F. I didn't pre-order a meal. All the F&C Platters were spoken for. Most had pre-ordered. My choice was the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. Yay! I had one last night too on PHX-SEA.

A new item in the snack basket was a surprise though. Sweedish Fish!

The soft blue LED lighting was appropriate for fish from the Ocean. 😉

Smart Fish! They have been "schooled" to spell. 😂

It was a long day, ready for another tomorrow and again on Wednesday.
