The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

Normally meals are decent, good microwave quality, but today was awesome. Great job Alaska! We did not get a cookie but perhaps the cake makes up for that.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entre Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

I concur. AS turkey sandwich is significantly better than the turkey sandwich offered by AA. The ciabatta bread is a little dry, but the creamy artichoke spread helps alleviate this problem. I just wish AS would offer liquor like AA does.

I think all the fruit plate/turkey sandwich flights include the cookie, but AS Flyer would know...

I'm not sure what is policy these days. However, last year I had some flights SEA-SJC/OAK that included F&C, snack basket, and cookie. Sometimes no snack basket. Sometimes no cookie. But most flights (on the 4 RT trips had both Snack basket and cookie. On one notable instance F was barely half full and had a lot of extra catering so the FA was offering multiple cookies to everyone.

Looks like AS is doing better than competitors by providing warm cookies and snack basket in addition to the sandwich/wrap/fruit plate. Even on AA and UA premium transcon routes with a hot meal the warm cookies service is missing. AA makes an attempt but does not compare to a gooey hot cookie with melting chocolate I suppose.

From a recent AA MIA-LAX Business class flight.

I'm just not a huge fan of choco chip cookies. They're just not worth the calories.

Flew the red-eye from OGG to SEA, Turkey sandwich, pretty dreadful tbh, one round of drinks pre sandwich, nothing after sandwich from the cabin crew, though you could use the call button if needed. Pretty disappointing experience up front tbh.

There is not a universe where dreadful is the correct description of this sandwich. The overall experience up front is disappointing, I agree, but you are flying during a pandemic that has caused over half a million deaths in the US alone. Maybe cut AS some slack on their service offerings.

Now the breakfast wrap...

I've had the opposite on shorter JNU/ANC legs where the FAs didn't seem to ever sit. Always in the aisle. One of my Florida/Seattle or maybe it was Florida/LA, the FA hid behind the curtain the entire time (A321).. but would answer the call button. I know the folks in back did one push-pull and then water service, because I heard the folks in row 6 complaining about it.

so i think it comes down to your crew and their fears of this thing. Also, sad to see the "Committed to Kindness" slogan no longer on Alaska wings.

Yeah to be clear, I'm quite fine with the level of service. I flew F 6 times last Friday-Sunday (BOS-SEA-BOS, BOS-SEA-MCO-SEA-BOS) and while there was one crew that was a little shy, I can't really blame them. If I wanted something I hit the button and they came, no big deal. I did get sick of the limited food options for breakfast but that's not the crew's fault. I only ate 4 cookies out of 6 offered but that's still > 1/day.

That last line hits the nail on the head. Some crews I have experienced are clearly very worried about their environment. My last flight SEA-CHS was pretty lax though. Even the concerned crew provided good cabin care though.
