The easiest thing might just be to contact Costco customer support and let them sort it out (or just refund what you paid).

Think I figured it out... I used the GC to buy 2 tickets on 1/9, then later that day I deposited the rest of the cert into my wallet. Subsequently cancelled the two tix, and their value went back to the gift card. Can't access those funds. Guess I get to call Refunds tomorrow!
ETA: Turns out they deposited the funds to my wallet but I wasn't able to tie the math together. Looks like it's all good and was (mostly) user error

Just seen this thread, I know I am late to the party, any caveats to worry about with this? Mostly an American flyer and would use this to fly and earn AA EQDs. Can I combine with the recent SEA sale between LAX-SEA that ends tonight?

If you have the code you can certainly use it for the sale, however, you might not get it in time if you were to purchase it now.

You should be able to combine with the fare sale. You plan and price out the flight like normal and then just use wallet funds from the deposit of the discount cert when you go to check out and pay.
