DCA Flight Scheduled

I’m moving cross-country (Baltimore to Portland) in a few weeks (scheduled for April 16 but may try to go sooner). Flying out of DCA to PDX on Alaska Airlines. Anyone flown out of DCA in the last week or so? And/or been on Alaska Air? It’s going to be nerve-wracking enough flying my cat out with me without adding the COVID fear on top of it. Any advice that might calm my nerves would be helpful!

AS has been pretty proactive on the cleaning etc. This link from their blog might help.

i currently live about 1.5 miles from DCA.

The DC metro system have closed and limited some stations. With the airport station only the south side entry is open. The north side is closed. The AS check in desk is over bridge and then to the left or north.

unsure what could happen with flight. They could have you move to a Seattle flight then connect.

like other airports it’s a skeleton of normal.

You just have to be flexible and have done the research on alternatives. There is no way to predict whether a given flight will operate, so the question becomes what you will do if you are rerouted or perhaps delayed by a day. All carriers say that they have enhanced their cleaning process, but the reality is that nobody can possibly sterilize an aircraft, particularly at an outstation. Thus, flying is only when essential and this may well be.
