Got it as well. Given how prices have dropped like a rock in the last few days on ex-PHX flights, during the height of spring break, it wouldn't surprise me if AS is seeing a lot of bookings dry up. Gary Kelly, the CEO of WN said the last few days have a "very 9/11 like feel."
We have three major conferences in the next six weeks at work. One was just postponed indefinitely and the other two we're expecting to be postponed or canceled as well. We haven't instituted any travel restrictions yet--we leave it up to the individual employees who travel to make that call based on their comfort (or discomfort) levels. One of our biggest regrets in 2008 was shutting down all travel.
If this sits around for another month or two it will really, really impact a lot of parts of the U.S. economy.

"... The bonus elite-qualifying miles awarded as part of this promotion apply only to the number of miles that count toward elite status qualification and will not be available for redemption...."
First class eqm bonus counts towards elite status qualification, so I think it's eligible for the 50% as well. If true, a 1000 mile flight in paid first would generate 1000 + 750 = 1750 X 1.5 = 2625 eqms.

That's the way I'm reading it, given the language in the small print:
"... The bonus elite-qualifying miles awarded as part of this promotion apply only to the number of miles that count toward elite status qualification and will not be available for redemption...."

Just booked a weekend in Anchorage that will qualify for this... my existing march madness trip will too....
I might have to look into some out & back trips if I can get this fare sale to line up.
