Alaska #442 Sun 1/19 LAX -- Police?

In the Alaska Lounge at LAX. Flight 442 just arrived at gate 66, over 5 hours late from SEA. Plane seemed not to unload, and then ground crew ran from plane. Multiple cops arrived. Anyone know what happened?

Elevator to Alaska Lounge was locked off, but re-opened now. Apparently an active shooter scare, but suspect apprehended.

So is an ‘active’ shooter different than a ‘passive’ shooter?
or what about a passive aggressive shooter?

Is that a thing?
And is an active shooter still a shooter when they are no longer active?

The words society uses to describe things are never, ever overdone or sensationalized.......

I'd describe someone without a gun as a non-shooter.

But this was an active shooter scare. That doesn't imply an actual active shooter, it just implies that people are scared that there is one.

Glad this turned out to be a false alarm.

On a related note, I continue to be impressed by the LAX Airport Police. Last year, I witnessed someone threatening to kill people on a plane boarding at LAX. After reporting the threat to AS gate agents, the LAX PD detained the individual, and took my statement--without causing any panic. All was over in 15 min, and I was able to make my flight, without any issue. I was surprised by others who heard the individual and corroborated my account after I stepped up, admitting they were nervous to be the first to report the threat. If you see or hear anything suspicious, report it. It's quite painless dealing with the airport police, plus it feels good knowing you didn't stand by when there was a risk to others.
